Next, the legislation has to be reviewed by a joint committee to resolve differences in the chamber's bills. But, in summary the bill includes the following for Health IT:
$20 billion to fund Medicare & Medicaid incentives for Health IT,
$3 billion in "jump start" funds to disseminate grants and loans to increase Health IT adoption, and
Funds for telemedicine grants and loans, enhanced IT for Indian Health Service facilities and improved interoperability for first responders.
Great news for healthcare IT adoption. I was worried about it, but this is indeed good news for providers who want to "jump" from the paper-age to the digital-age.
