NextGen Systems (Quality Systems, Inc.) Acquires Opus Healthcare Solutions – Inpatient and Ambulatory Services

If you have been around in the medical records business a whileyou have probably heard of NextGen who’s ambulatory solutions were one of the first on the market.  As we continue to see mergers and acquisitionshere we have the ability to combine technologies and offer larger and complete Health IT packages to include “cloud” capabilities. 

In addition you also see financial services now provided in this package with some business intelligence solutions aimed at the hospital end of healthcareto help manage cost and services.  Opus also brings some additional mobile service solutions to the table as well.  Also in the newsIngram Micro is now a partner to help in the support training new US distributors of NextGen technologies and provide financing and leasing options.  BD 

IRVINECalif.Feb 112010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Quality SystemsInc.a leading provider of healthcare information systems and connectivity solutionsimagetoday announced that QSI has entered into an agreement to acquire Opus Healthcare SolutionsInc. The acquisition complements and will be integrated with the assets of Sphere Health SystemsInc.which were acquired in August 2009. Both companies are established developers of software and services for the inpatient market and will become part of NextGen Healthcare Information Systems, Inc.QSI's wholly owned subsidiary. The transactions are expected to be accretive in QSI's fiscal year 2011ending March 312011.   

NextGen Healthcare will focus on providing solutions to hospitals with 100 beds or lessa marketplace that has been historically underserved and is in desperate need of state-of-the-art systems.
