Kaiser Permanente

Here are some interesting photos from a book that details the history, foundation, and start up of Kaiser. Kaiser Permanente  has emerged as one of the nation's leading healthcare systems. My grandfather, Dr. Paul Stange (see lower left of the photo caption above) was a member of the original executive committee of The Permanente Medical Group - these founding physicians were truly healthcare entrepreneurs back in the 1950s (and, at the time, shortsightedly, many critics thought they were crazy!). The book title above captures their foundational premise: Can Physicians Manage the Quality and Costs of Health Care?

My grandfather would argue ... yes.

I suspect that Dr. Jay Parkinson of Hello Health would agree (with our help, of course!).
