Is Your Hospital’s Online Engagement Strategy Missing the Mark?

Posted Oct 03 2012 7:59am

Recently, Jayme Hummer from Enspektos sent me a number of new infographics they have produced using results from their Digihealth Pulse Research. Enspektos released new findings on October 2, 2012, that may well change how hospitals and health systems look at their online consumer engagement strategies. The new data shows that consumers are going to sites like WebMD and Wikipedia for health information, rather than leading social sites – Facebook and Twitter.

“New data on what online health content people actually consume (versus what they report on online surveys) suggests those focusing primarily on these sites (Facebook and Twitter) could be missing more than 90% of opportunities to shape health behavior. For executives seeking to use the Web to encourage healthier eating, boost vaccinations, change how people exercise, promote medication compliance and modify other health behaviors this is critical information.” (Source: )

I’ve provided the infographic below that depicts these new findings. Click here to visit the original source. To get more information about the research, visit the Enspektos website by using this link .
