is anything possible with a PE in the lung with someone with multiple cancer tumors in the brain?

any alternative treatment, herb, anything. My sister has advanced brain cancer from

breast cancer and now has a PE in the lung.  her doctors said the risk is to severe to

give coumidin or blood thinners that may also affect the tumors--so they are doing nothing for her now...any helpful guidance??
