Hospital TV Vendor Raises $10 Million in Funding – Internet and more at bedside

Be prepared to be educated even in your hospital bed.  Actually the program offers more than education and gives patients the ability to email, and image oh yes I’m sure they can also reach all their social networks and Twitter from the hospital, there will be no escape from social networks (grin). 

You get a wireless keyboard and one other device to control the system.  Under related reading below are some posts I have covered about X Box and some of the idea that Cerner and a couple others have in place at various hospitals across the US.  The Venture Capital arm of Johnson and Johnson was added as a new investor on this round.  BD 

GetWellNetwork Inc., a Bethesda, Md.-based vendor of a television-based communications system for hospital patient rooms, has raised $10 million in a round of funding. 

image The round included Johnson & Johnson Development Corp., the venture capital subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, as a new investor. Existing investors that participated in the new funding include Valhalla Partners, Grosvenor Funds, Point Judith Capital and Village Ventures & Affiliates.
