High Risk Health Insurance Pool

Posted Oct 15 2010 6:22pm

High risk health insurance pools are a main part of the Federal health insurance plan.  According to the article “2400 Apple For High Risk Health Insurance Pool” by Gene Rickman found on The Top News website, the US Department of Health and Human Services has calculated an estimate of how many people are enrolling in these pools nationwide.

The number as of this summer is around 2400 and this may be larger by now.  Many citizens are worried about what may happen to their health insurance plans due to reform and are acting.  From health insurance quotes to vision insurance quotes , consumers are shopping around to ensure their benefits are protected and they can still afford quality coverage.

In addition to the high risk health insurance pools, The Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan looks to help Americans by forbidding the denial of coverage for pre-existing conditions, a practice that currently devastates many families.  This will not take full effect until 2014.  The Affordable Care Act was passed by Congress earlier this year and should have a major impact on the way health care is carried out today.
