Guest Column: An update on Health IT from Dr. David Blumenthal

Since the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act was signed into law in February 2009, a number of initiatives have been established that will help make it possible for providers to achieve meaningful use and for Americans to benefit from electronic health records as part of a modernized, interconnected, and vastly improved system of care delivery.
