Guest Column: A proposed federal data security law one more time!

Over the past month, two different bills have been proposed in Congress to address federal data security requirements. The most comprehensive of the two, and the one garnering the most attention is S. 3742, referred to as the Data Security and Breach Notification Act of 2010. The bill was introduced on August 5, 2010 by Senators Mark Pryor (D-Ark) and John D. Rockefeller IV (D - W. Va) and referred to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.
