Are Patients or Employees the Focus of Healthcare?

TheFierceHealthcarenewsletter recently reported on a debate in theHospital Impact blogled by hosptial CEO Nick Jacobs. Jacobs points to practices that seem to favor the employees and physicians more than the patients, such as 4AM blood testing. He questions how much hospitals could relax these routines and keep efficiency at necessary levels. Jacobs argues that there’s no excuse for insensitivity to patients.
Jacobs concludes : “This is not an indictment of the medical profession. It is an indictment of every profession. If you are a patient, a customer, a client or even a citizen interacting with a bureaucrat, remember one thing; without you, they have no business, no income.”
