MemoryCare of Asheville, N.C., has been honored by the Premier healthcare alliance with the 19th annual Monroe E. Trout Premier Cares Award. This unique program is helping families successfully care for their loved ones with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. Their mission is to provide specialized medical care to adults with memory loss and also to support caregivers with education and counseling.

Patients and caregivers explain that MemoryCare has offered them hope and support when it comes to managing this disease. For many, it has substantially improved their quality of life. You can listen to their story below.

We will be featuring some of the other programs that were named as Premier Cares Award finalists in the coming days. All are helping medically underserved populations gain access to healthcare and knowledge that they may not otherwise receive.
