What is the Relationship between energy balance and weight management?

Your energy balance is the balance of calories consumed through eating and drinking compared to calories burned through physical activity. Energy in is what you eat and drink.  Energy out is what you burn through physical activity.  

An important part of maintaining energy balance is the amount of energy out you produce.  If you are more physically active you will burn more calories than those who are not as physically active.
