Over the past couple months I have had three periods of severe anal itching. After a while, it spreads and causes raised, hard, itchy patches along the insides of my "cheeks", right to my tailbone. (Also very hot and burning). Hydrocortisone cream seems to eventually help, but last time I developed a severe yeast infection from using the hydrocortisone cream for too long. Each bout seems to be more severe. I'm using Anusol for hemorrhoids, as the doctor thought it might originate with an oozing hemorrhoid. It is driving me crazy, keeping me awake at night. Any suggestions?
