U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will give remarks at Achieve’s American Diploma Project Leadership Team Meeting in Alexandria, VA at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 2. Secretary Duncan will address the urgent need to improve assessment systems that will more validly measure a broader range of student knowledge and skills, that support good teaching, and that lead to college and career readiness.
Achieve’s American Diploma Project (ADP) Network works in tandem with 35 states that are dedicated to making sure that every high school graduate is prepared for college or careers. Together, Network member states are responsible for educating 85 percent of all U.S. public school students.
