U.S. Education Department Officials to Address 'Gear Up' Conference on Access to a College Education

Officials from the U.S. Department of Education will address the National Council for Community and Education Partnerships' GEAR UP Capacity-Building Workshop on Monday, Feb. 4, in Las Vegas. GEAR UP is the acronym for the Education Department's Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs initiative, which helps thousands of at-risk students prepare for college and receive the support they need to achieve success in postsecondary education.

The National Council for Community and Education Partnerships works to develop and strengthen broad-based partnerships throughout education, from early childhood through postsecondary education.
