U.S. Department of Education Senior Official to Participate in Panel Discussion on Collaborative Efforts to Improve Student Achi

U.S. Department of Education Deputy Assistant Secretary Michael Yudin will participate in a panel discussion on Monday, March 21, at the 2011 AdvancED International Summit in Chicago, Ill. The panel is titled "The Power to Transform Critical Relationships Among Local, State and Federal Governments to Improve Student Achievement." During his remarks, Yudin will discuss the Departments efforts to work closely with state education agencies in an attempt to improve student achievement. The 2011 AdvancED International Summit will engage education leaders, practitioners and policymakers in discussions on today's most pressing and provocative issues facing our education system. The theme of this year's conference is the "Power to Transform."

AdvancED is one of the world's largest education communities, serving more than 27,000 public and private schools and districts across the United States and in 69 countries. The organization provides a national and international voice to inform and influence education policy and practice on issues related to the quality of education around the globe.
