U.S. Department of Education Director of Office of Educational Technology to Give Remarks at West Virginia Statewide Technology

Karen Cator, director of the Office of Educational Technology, will give keynote remarks on the National Education Technology Plan (NETP) at the West Virginia Statewide Technology conference on Tuesday, August 2 in Morgantown, W.V. Cator will give an overview of the plan, which articulates a vision for a 21-st century model of learning and offers goals for using technology to transform education in five areas: learning, assessment, teaching, infrastructure and productivity. The aim is to achieve each goal by 2015.

The theme of the conference is “Unlocking the Potential of Technology.” The conference will feature sessions, workshops, and exhibits for educators from K-12 and higher education, and IT professionals.
