U.S. Assistant Secretary for Postsecondary Education Eduardo Ochoa will address The Renaissance Group (TRG) during its fall conference at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3. His remarks will highlight the importance of teacher preparation programs and technology to institutions of higher education. The event, themed "From Chalkboards to Smart Boards: Preparing for a New Generation of Educators for America's Schools," will be held at the Key Bridge Marriott in Arlington, Va.

TRG is a national consortium of colleges and universities committed to the preparation of educational professionals, guided by a set of operating principles that affirm the importance of the education of teachers as an all-campus responsibility. It aims to serve as proactive force for the improvement and reform of education.
