Is Hormone Replacement Therapy HRT safe and effective?

There has been a lot of confusion surrounding the safe use of HRT mostly caused as a result of the 2002 WHI Study. This study indicated that there were serious side-effects associated with HRT. However, in his articles for in Capital Health, Prof John Studd points out the fundamental flaws in this study, namely, that the sample population were beyond the treatment target age and that they were given an inappropriate form of HRT.
In his articles, Prof John Studd explains how the modern approach to HRT is safe and highly effective. Important factors include age, range of symptoms being treated, dosage, type of hormone replacement and route of administration. He goes onto explain how treatments need to be tailored to the requirements of the individual woman and how hormone replacement is the logical and safe approach to treating most of the symptoms associated with the menopause.
