Having a overall healthy eating plan can be pretty challenging, especially when you have weak points in your diet. A healthy eating plan should consist of up to 6 small meals per day, but do you have enough meal ideas? What about snacks?

These are usually the easiest to breakdown and cheat by having a bag of chips or a small meal at a fast food joint. In order for this to NOT happen you need to have a list of solid healthy snack ideas ahead of time, so you don’t get in a rut of eating unhealthy.

  • In the morning you want to stay full, so try adding oatmeal into your routine for a quick hearty snack.
  • An easy snack can be having small bags of fruit to throw into your lunch kit, things like apples , grapes, pears, oranges and banana’s are always easy fast and effective.
  • A healthy snack that can be added to a variety of foods as well are “nuts”, they provide a wide range of health benefits such as: They are incredibly high in plant protein , they have antioxidants that may help prevent cancer and they have a high dose of omega 3 fatty acids (which are great for your body). You can have a bag of almonds with you at all times and add them into your cereal or yogurt, or put cashews into you salad or dinner recipes to get more nutrients from your snacks and meals.
  • Raw veggies like baby carrots, broccoli and cauliflower are packed with high amounts of vitamins and minerals your body can use to stay fit and provide energy for your day and workout. Even dipping them in your favorite low calorie  salad dressing makes them a delicious and nutritious snack option.
  • One big problem for me is if I’m in a lazy mood and don’t want to prepare something that will take more then 5 minutes. I solved this by buying a quality blender and some frozen fruit. In under 5 minutes I can put skim milk, a scoop of whey protein, frozen blueberries, strawberries and raspberries and ice all into the blender and come out with one hell of a fine tasting smoothie. Not to mention its providing mass amounts of health gains and muscle building qualities to my body.

Hopefully some of these quick snack ideas can help you fill the void of what to eat when your out of healthy options. For more great meal ideas, workouts plans and toning help, visit V.T.S for to take care of them all.
