Happy Valentines! Save The Heart of a Woman!

Cardiovascular disease kills a half million WOMEN each year. It is the number one cause of death in women in the US. Unfortunately, many still see it as an “older man's disease”. So in order to raise awareness, the American Heart Association has launched its “Go Red for Women” campaign. The AHA's website says,

“Go Red For Women encourages awareness of the issue of women and heart disease, and also action to save more lives. The movement harnesses the energy, passion and power women have to band together and collectively wipe out heart disease. It challenges them to know their risk for heart disease and take action to reduce their personal risk. It also gives them the tools they need to lead a heart healthy life.”
One way you can help on Valentines Day is to send a free Valentines card from Macy's Facebook Page . For each card sent they will donate $1 to Go Red For Women.

Also, take a few minutes and schedule an appointment with your doctor to learn your risk for heart disease.
