Education Secretary Honors Top Student Community Leaders at 2012 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will celebrate community service student leaders at the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards on Monday, May 7. At the event, 10 students from across the country will be honored as top youth volunteers of 2012 and recognized for making a positive difference in their communities.

The awards portion of the event will begin at 12:45 p.m. at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C. The program was created in 1995 by Prudential in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) to honor middle level and high school students for outstanding service to others at the local, state and national level.
