John White, the deputy assistant secretary of education for rural outreach, will deliver remarks at the Minnesota Rural Education Association (MREA) conference on Friday, Nov. 5, at 8:30 a.m. The event, which will focus on the theme of “Learning and Growing Together,” will be at the Arrowwood Conference Center in Alexandria, Minn.
MREA is a grassroots organization made up of members from about 140 school districts located in non-metropolitan Minnesota. At the conference, which runs from Nov. 3-5, White will give a presentation on the U.S. Department of Education’s Blueprint for Reform of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act and its implications for rural schools.
