Education Department Official to Give Opening Remarks at Hillsborough Community College's" Black Brown and College Bound" Confer

José Rico, deputy director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics, will give remarks at the opening plenary session of Hillsborough Community College’s “Black Brown and College Bound” conference at 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 23, in Tampa, Fla. This year’s conference is titled “Courageous Conversations: Taking it to the Next Level with African-American and Latino Males.” Rico will highlight the issues regarding Latino degree completion and discuss the Administration’s initiatives to increase Latino students’ access to a quality education and raise higher education completion rates.
