Brenda Dann-Messier, the assistant secretary for the Office of Vocational and Adult Education, will continue her Career and Technical Community Conversation listening tour when she visits New Mexico on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 15-16. On Tuesday, Dann-Messier will take tours and hold discussions at Early College High School and the Doña Ana Community College Workforce Center, both located in Las Cruces. On Wednesday morning, Dann-Messier will visit Gadsden Workforce Center at Gadsden High School in Anthony where she will meet with staff and tour the facilities before going to Chaparral High School in the afternoon for a focus group discussion.
On the trip, Dann-Messier will discuss successful partnerships among preK-12 schools, postsecondary institutions and businesses. The conversations will focus on how those models and programs can be applied to boost student achievement elsewhere. These stops are part of a nationwide tour that provides Dann-Messier the opportunity to engage with students and workers about common challenges and learn about practices that are helping students achieve success in both advanced degrees and their careers.
