Assistant Education Secretary to Address Reform Efforts at Harvard Black Law Students Association Conference

Thelma Meléndez de Santa Ana, assistant secretary for the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education, will highlight the Administration’s education reform agenda when she serves as a panelist at the spring conference of the Harvard Black Law Students Association (HBLSA). The panel will be held in Pound Hall 101 at Harvard Law School in Cambridge, Mass., at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 5.

The annual HBLSA spring conference unites students, alumni, professors, legal practitioners and the community to engage in a dialogue about relevant issues in black communities. During an education-focused panel entitled “Effective Leadership in Addressing Educational Disparities and Reforming Schools,” Meléndez de Santa Ana will discuss how the Department of Education is working to improve outcomes for all students.
