U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius, U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Shaun Donovan and the Director of the White House Domestic Policy Council Melody Barnes will hold a press conference at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, on the Department of Education Plaza to make a major announcement about the Promise Neighborhoods program. The program will provide support for community-based efforts to create cradle-to-career services, designed to improve educational outcomes for students in distressed neighborhoods. For those who cannot attend the press conference, Secretary Duncan will hold a press call at 2:30 p.m.
