I used to run a lot but ~ 10 years ago, developed a degenerative condition in my right hip so I took up road biking and started swimming more, and haven't looked back since (though I do miss trail running and playing basketball). I do yoga-based strength/flexibility work pretty much daily, and will grudgingly go to the gym to do strength work (it's not so bad - it's just not outdoors). Staying active helps give me health and life balance - even better, it allows me to eat a lot :-)
