Working It Through

Posted Aug 14 2009 6:48pm

I have been off all week….not in a bad way.  I just haven’t been attached to the computer, the blog world, the twitter world…anything for the past week.  And I have definetely enjoyed it. I am trying to make a point out of breaking the connection, not put as much time into all this and actually enjoy reality.

Maybe it is because I lost my luggage.  I have really tried not to be frustrated about not having my makeup, my straightener, any of my cute summer clothes and bathing suits.  I guess I am aiming to be less materialistic and more live in the moment.  How I look really shouldn’t define my mood and day, now should it?

So I have really been away from the blog world and I have enjoyed it.  My training, now that is an entirely different story.  I had my long run yesterday, a 9 miler.  When I woke up, I knew it wasn’t going to go well.  I just knew.  And I was right.

Pre run, I had a slice of bread with some PB and banana

The Run:

Distance: 9.32 miles

Time: 1:39:26

Pace: 10:39

From  the fist mile, I was miserable and hurting.  I felt like I had deadlegs from the beginning and never was able to shake them.  It was tough.  I wasn’t happy.  It was hot.  But I finished.

UGH!!

I got home and collapsed.

Sadly, I did a lot of this while watching the Tour De France.

Eventually, I got and had a wonderful evening with Justin!

We ran a few errands on his motorcycle.  Then headed out to dinner–yummy sushi and then went and saw Transformers.

And now we are attempting to motivate ourselves so we can enjoy our sunny Sunday.
