Whisper from your soul (Intution) Part II

Posted Sep 14 2008 4:44pm

Last week I defined intuition and discussed the importance of honoring your intuitive voice and listening to the whispers from your soul. Did you notice any intuitive messages over the past week? Did you honor your intuitive voice?

Remember that increased awareness is only the first step to developing your intuition. This week I will discuss how a centering practice can help you tap into your intuition.

When you are centered, you are more open to the flow of intuitive information and are better able to hear your intuitive voice. Centering is the practice of quieting the mind and relaxing the body to create a sense of peace and present moment focus (mindfulness). It is a process of clearing away the mental clutter so that you can access your own inner resources and power. Centering can be accomplished in many ways (deep breathing, meditation, music, prayer, yoga, tai chi, etc). It is important to find several ways that work best for you so that you can easily center yourself even in the midst of chaos.

As you are centering, you will likely find that your mind wanders occasionally. That is perfectly natural. Simply bring your awareness gently back to the quiet peaceful feeling. This is a crucial point that I am going to repeat: make sure you gently bring your mind back to focus on the present moment. Sometimes people get aggravated because their mind wanders. Berating yourself or feeling aggravated only interferes with the process of centering.

This week practice centering. Find some time that is free from distractions and try one of the centering practices I mentioned in the second paragraph. Remember to be gentle with yourself and start small – a few minutes of centering is better than not doing it at all. When you are centered it is a great time to pose a question or ask for intuitive guidance. Then be silent and listen for the whispers from you soul. Next week we will explore ways to improve your ability to receive intuitive answers...

Create a great week!
