Happy New Year!
Chinese across the globe will celebrate the start of the Tiger year on the 14th February, which also corresponds to Saint Valentines Day, a happy coincidence especially since the coming year sees the appearance of the peach blossom star in the year's paht chee chart. This star brings love, perhaps too much love as there is also a tendency to infidelity - so the year brings great romance luck for singles and something of a stress for married couples!! Third party outsiders can cause problems to otherwise happily married couples.
And to those celebrating Chinese New Year please note that on the first day of new year please DO NOT OPEN any door, or window that is facing Southwest; apart from being very afflicted this coming year the SW direction is also the direction facing the DEATH affliction so keep the SW door closed this day of the 14th February.
Remember this applies only to the first day of the New Year - February 14th
...also its a great idea to plant a new auspicious tree (best is a fruit tree) on the first day of this new year to make up for the absence of the lap chun or 'day of Spring"... that is if you had not already done so on the 4th February...
Other than that it's a great idea to wear something red, something new, eat something sweet, give someone a treat! And that's the way to welcome in the brand new year, for really Tiger's just a pussycat and his is not a year to fear ...
