That title may seem a little premature for most of you but not for those of us that are planning on going to the TDF in 2010. And why is today so exciting you ask? Well because the schedule for the 2010 TDF was announced today! Which means Justin and I can start planning our trip! So so so exciting!
Justin and I have a lunch date today scheduled to start discussing the trip. We are planning on going for 2 weeks. I am so excited and I am still ~9 months away!
I headed to the gym last night and got a really good workout in. My arms are EXHAUSTED right now! I lifted when I first got there (took about 35 minutes):
Lunges–2 sets of 10 reps per leg (holding 2 10lb dumbbells) Side lunges–2 sets of 10 reps per leg (holding 2 7.5lb dumbbells) Squats–2 sets of 10 reps with a 45lb barbell Pullups with assist machine–3 sets of 10 reps set to 70lbs Dips with assist machine–3 sets of 10 reps set to 55lbs Incline bench press–3 sets of 10 reps with 2 17.5lb dumbbells Incline Pec flies–3 sets of 10 reps with 2 15lb dumbbells Seated Shoulder press–3 sets of 10 reps with 2 17.5lb dumbbells Lat raises (in a V)—3 sets of 10 reps with 2 7.5lb dumbbells Seated rows—3 sets of 10 reps at 45lbs Lat pulldowns–3 sets of 10 reps at 45lbs (I think)
Then I headed over to the elliptical and did 40+ minutes on there while reading My Sister’s Keeper. This book is so good, it made the time FLY!
I woke up early this morning and headed back to the gym. I DID not want to get up when my alarm went off at 5:50. I laid there and thought “Is this really worth it”, “do I really need to go do this” etc. But I managed to extract myself out of bed and I think I drove to the gym still half asleep.

Either I am much slower than normal or I miscounted. Either could be true at that early in the morning but a 1900 does not take me 42 minutes and I didn’t feel like I was going too slow. Who knows!
And well–I woke up early to go to the gym so I could make yoga tonight but Justin just called and I think we are going to go to the United States-Costa Rica: World Cup Qualifier game tonight. To say Justin LOVES soccer is an understatement, so if he got tickets then we will definitely be going. It was 45 degrees this morning when I got into work (8:30PM) so it may be FREEZING tonight at RFK Field. Must dress appropriately! And I am more than happy to skip yoga to go spend time with Justin doing something that he loves so much. But we will have to see if he got the tickets. If not–yoga!
I have had oats to eat for 3 of my last 4 meals. That seems like a lot. I possibly would have had them for lunch yesterday too if I had thought about it. Kind-of pathetic, I know!
I was on my own last night for dinner and all I wanted was something quick and well…unhealthy. And this combination filled all those characteristics–and in all honesty, it wasn’t unhealthy at all, just felt that way.
While I was cooking my oats, I snacked on a carrot with some PB:
Warning: this combination may gross/confusion some of you but I find it amazing!
In that bowl is 1/2 cup of oats, 1 cup of water and a dash of salt. Cooked on the stovetop for about 5 minutes. To it I added 2.5 slices of salami (50 cals), so swiss cheese (30 cals worth), 1 egg, some spinach and some Sriracha.
It was amazing!
I enjoyed and savored every single bit!
And then for dessert I figured I needed some fruit after what felt like a greasy, fatty meal (which I know it wasn’t!)
1/2 a small pear, a small plum with some honey and chocolate nut butter on top. MmmmmM!
Or what I should call oats #3. I have to say, this is my FAVORITE oats combination (for breakfast) of all time. It was what oats are supposed to be.
Apple, cinnamon and brown sugar oats.
1/2 cup of oats, 1 cup of water, 1 scoop of protein powder (40 cals worth), 2t of brown sugar, 1 VERY SMALL apple and maybe 1T of raisins with a dumping of cinnamon on top.
I was in oats heaven!
Okay, to be honest, I have no pictures of the food I packed today. Because it is the exact thing as yesterday. Wheat bread with cheese, spinach and tomato, an orange, a piece of chocolate and the remaining soup. Snack–yogurt (black cherry Stonyfield). I decided photos weren’t needed.
Well have a fabulous day. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for soccer tickets!
