The wisdom of your life

Posted Jul 15 2009 6:01pm

Last weekend I was teaching a class on social media and creating an authentic online presence to holistic health practitioners and students. There were a few concerned about not knowing what to share via a blog or website because they hadn' t found their professional path yet. The air was thick with the underlying message, "I have nothing to share." How far from the truth that is!

Everyone, in holistic health or not, has a wealth of experience from their own life. We are experts and students of living. From relationships to money to work to friends to fun to taking care of ourselves to storytelling. The list continues.

When we share what we' ve learned with each other, both the listener and the speaker benefit. Take stock in what you' ve been through. It' s about how living has changed you, helped you grow, become more yourself. We are all so rich in this. That' s true abundance!

Here are a few prompts to get the reflection wheels turning:

What places in nature help you feel peaceful? What about them do you love? Paint the picture.

What family messages have shaped your life? What did you learn from them?

What message would you like to pass on to your family members? Community? Future generations?

List 5 turning points in your life and the events that made them so. How are you different as a result?

What other questions help you tap into the wisdom of your life?
