The Weaver's Hands

Purpose Ponderings Header

Have you ever met a woman whose eyes were like piercing beams-of-light penetrating deep into your soul? When you look at such a beautiful woman do you see a reflection of yourself, or feel the need to achieve a deeper spirituality? In eternity past the "Weavers Hands" gently shaped the design of our life, spinning raw fibers as they twist and form into threads-of-life, creating in us a binding strength that cast us into an intricate pattern. God weaves His pattern-of-purpose by interlacing unique people, predestined events, and the courage to accomplish our purpose within a framework tailored for each of us individually. He created a pattern of life-events to assist and teach us to understand the gift of our purpose, and to nurture others as He does us.

Weaving Ancient Women in ancient societies would spin the flax, wool, cotton, and camel's hair necessary for weaving garments. According to New Unger's Bible Dictionary, men accomplished the art of weaving figures in a unique ornamental art form. Jesus is the true Weaver. Binding the threads-of-sin to the tapestry of the Cross He freed us from our sin nature, and united us in His design.

"So Jesus said to them, for a little while longer the Light is among you. Walk while you have the Light, so that darkness will not overtake you; he who walks in the darkness does not know where he goes. While you have the Light, believe in the Light, so that you may become sons of Light" (Matthew 12:35-36 NASB).

Ponderings: If God weaves our fundamental nature, why do we as Christian women keep sinning? Perhaps you feel the tightening grip of ragged and wounded threads that strangle the light in your soul while the radiance within your eyes fades. We are made of a complex and sturdy pattern, but we can break down and become worn and tattered. Sometimes we only need a stitch or two; other times we need sutures to be repaired. Still, Jesus' loving hands open up and hold us in His grace while He mends the weave.

Ocean - Thinking Why do we keep sinning blindly by teetering in darkness on the edge of a cliff?. . .because, our sin nature constantly fights against God. However, we have the Holy Spirit to guide us. Sometimes when we look at a noble woman we see ourselves as a dark reflection wishing for spiritual depth. Working toward spiritual growth is the purpose of every Christian woman. Spiritually beautiful women are our mentors, inspiration, and examples. Seek out a mentor. Why do we feel strangled in our spirit? Because, the Holy Spirit is quiet and grieved from sin in our life. He is waiting in the light to gather you up again, and hold you in His arms.

Coaching: We will never come near our intended life-purpose if we dwell in sins desires. Even though we battle against our own sin nature, as long as we live on earth, we still have a choice whether to sin or not. Our sin nature is a lot like being on a diet. If we fall back into a pattern of rebellious habits, the consequences are a heavy weight to carry, even though we are children of God. However, when Jesus Christ controls our daily life His perfect purpose guides, protects, and keeps us covered with the Light of the Holy Spirit gently reminding us to STOP... at sin's door, DO NOT ENTER. When we recognize sinful thoughts within, we simply stop at the threshold, and quietly confess. The Holy Spirit keeps watch over our weaknesses and tenderly nudges us. Even when life seems thread bear, Christ transforms our weak human strands into His purpose. He covers us with a pattern-of-splendor in His Son's love woven into the texture of His will. God prepared each of us as separate parts and we begin to who share a community purpose to develop into one body. We are a part of each other creating something larger to accomplish than just our own destiny.

Woman Playing Violin  He created us as a union of sisters-in-the-Lord, each uniquely designed and scu lptured in eternity-past, working together for the present, and future. Moreover, He created us with a common purpose that threads us so securely nothing can separate us form the love of God. One common purpose we share is coming together at Christian Women Take Root; serving each other, and our sisters in need of Christ.

Challenge: Will you stand still and allow the weaver's Hands to shape a pattern of design in you, creating an infinite sculpture in the body of Christ? His pattern-of-purpose will always design a way for the lost and hurting to be comforted. Will you look toward Him in quiet moments as He offers you His love to share with others? The Weaver's Hands gently shape a pattern and design in each of us to create a symphony of believers working in harmony for His kingdom-purpose.

What are you doing about the thread-worn, tattered parts of your life? He can restore your purpose if you give Him a chance. Will you step or of darkness into the light, and embrace the touch and design of the Weaver's Hands?
