Yesterday I took Zack and his friend up to
EFY in Thatcher. He will be gone until Saturday. The other parents will bring him home. Thank heavens for carpooling. I am so excited for this opportunity that he has. Fiscally speaking I really should have gotten a refund on
EFY this year since my financial situation changed drastically from the time I registered him, but I just didn't have the heart to take another thing away from him this year.
So off we went to Thatcher yesterday morning and boy did we have fun. Those two boys and I cracked up the whole way there. I sang to them out of tune, they teased me for being a dork, and the best part is Zack seemed to like me today. Teenagers are so tough
sometimes and to have mine like me and seem to be proud of me in front of his friend was a really good moment for me.
When we got to
EFY I checked them in and took them to their dorms. They were so excited. I hope he has the best experience and comes back ready to tackle his junior year with
hard work putting this hard year of divorce behind him.
Actually I hope that for all of us, ready to tackle a new year putting the old one behind us.
