Must stop shopping!

Posted Oct 13 2009 10:05pm

EEEK! I just looked at my bank account after my weekend trip and I really really need to stop the shopping!  In the past week I have bought $100 running shoes, a $325 plane ticket to Austin, TX and spent about $200 on my trip to Charlotte.

I cannot afford behavior like that when I am trying to decorate a house!  That and taking that pay cut didn’t help the situation.

But the weekend was incredible, so totally worth it!  And my new shoes feel incredible!

I did 6 miles on Friday and then a quick 2 miler last night (around 9pm) after I got back in town.  I should have taken a picture of myself.  I used to run at night a lot when I was in grad school.  It really was the only time of the day that I had time to run in the summer…and the only time it was cool enough.  Anyway, I have a whole night time outfit which includes a headlamp and a vest that looks like I’m a crossing guard.  All I know–better safe than sorry!

Total run last week: (6/22-6/28): 24.2 miles. Pace: 10:08 per mile. Time 04:05:40.

Anyway, I left work around 3:30 on Friday afternoon and started the LONG drive to Charlotte.  Took nearly 7 hours.  A few things that entertained me during my drive:

tank

A tank.  I knew Justin would have thought this was really cool.

And my packed dinner (Ezekiel tortilla with cucumbers, mustard and a Morningstar Chik’n patty) during the sunset.

Allie and I had a WONDERFUL weekend.  On Saturday morning we went to her local farmers market which left me SO JEALOUS.  It was massive and open Tuesday-Sunday 10-6.  That is simply incredible.  The plant selection was to die for!

Good thing I don’t live near this place.  I would spend a lot of money here!

Gorgeous!

Then we spent the rest of the day enjoying ourselves–laying out by the pool, getting pedicures and then I met up with one of my sister’s for a glass of wine.

And then Allie and I met back up.  Apparently we were already having a great time with each other and this was before we headed out to some parties.

No idea why I’m laughing so hard.

Or why Allie was.

Then we headed out to a few parties/bars:

The first one was a toga party–hence the girl on the far left’s outfit.  I definitely opted out of wearing a toga!

We got home around 2AM.  I was EXHAUSTED.  And I definitely woke up with a hangover on Sunday morning.  Not the best thing when you have to drive 7 hours!  I basically got up, showered and hit the road.

I drove until Blacksburg (3 hours into the trip) and stopped and visited with my mother for about an hour.  I think she liked getting to just chitchat with her daughter on a random Sunday afternoon.  And then I had to get back in my car and drive another 4 hours!

At least it was a gorgeous day and I had a wonderful view!

I was very glad to get home though.  I was uberproductive last night–still did that 2 mile run, then lifted for about 20 minutes, baked 2 loaves of bread, went grocery shopping, got foods packed/ready for the week.

Then I laid down to sleep and I couldn’t go to sleep for the life of me.  My stomach was KILLING me.  I had eating Brussels sprouts, carrots and kale for dinner with 2 falafel balls.  And my stomach KILLED.  It still hurts this morning.  No idea why, but it definitely means I am one EXHAUSTED chica!

Do you still work out when you are exhausted?  I mean, can barely put 2 feet in front of each other exhausted?

I am going to skip the gym over lunch and go meet up with Justin.  I haven’t spent time with him in days!  And having lunch with him seems much more enjoyable than running.  I may motivate myself to just get another short–2 mile jog in later today.  Either at the gym after work on the treadmill or another night time run.  I kind of enjoyed my run yesterday!

Have a good Monday.  Hope you are better rested than I am!  And that you had a fabulous weekend!
