Yesterday I was out supporting my friend Colin. He is running over Snowdon, Scafell and Ben Nevis and then cycling in between to reach each of them. As I type he is in Lanark on his way to Ben Nevis and will complete his challenge on Thursday. Colin has undetaken this to raise money for Headway since they were very helpful when he was recovering from a head injury after a winter climbing accident in 2003. You can sponsor him via his web page through justgiving
Colin is a great inspiration to me and I found myself thinking what a great achievement this is as I could never do it (my back goes numb if I cycle more than about 4 miles). Then I remembered a discussion that I had a while back with Colin about how he could not so some of the work things that I do, he would not even contemplate them. So then I thought I should give myself a pat on the back for my own achievements which are viewed as awesome by some of the very people that I find insprational.
So which of your achievements might you be seeing as ordinary when they would be truly awesome to others? Believe me we all have them, but winkling them out of some people is really difficult and then getting them to celebrate them is even more difficult. My watchwords for you today are achieve, assess, celebrate (then celebrate some more).
