Help your brain help you stay positive

Every second you have millions, maybe hundreds of millions, of bits of information coming in from your senses!  That is a lot of information.  You are constantly bombarded with information.  You cannot possibly pay attention to all of this information.  Fortunately our brain helps us filter this information.  The brain looks for information that is relevant and pertinent.  This type of information passes through the filters and comes into your awareness.  The types of thoughts that you think help determine what is relevant and pertinent to you. 

 

For example, let's say that you want to buy a new yellow sports car.  Suddenly you see yellow sports cars everywhere you look.  Last week your brain filtered out this information because it wasn’t relevant to you.  Now that it is relevant your brain will bring this information to your awareness.  If you tend to notice mostly bad news and bad things going on around you, maybe you need to change your filter so that your brain knows to bring more positive things to your attention. 

 

Setting your intention and changing your thoughts will make this happen.  Set your intention for happy, positive days and soon your brain will bring happy positive information to your awareness.  This helps you continue to think the happy and positive thoughts.  You will be pleasantly surprised by how you can change your life by changing the type of information that is relevant to you.  Focus your thoughts on the things you want in life and you will help your brain help you!
