Anyone else thrilled that it’s Wednesday? This week is totally dragging and Wednesday is a small reminder that the weekend is almost here. Although I totally love my job, there are some weeks that are more difficult than others. The last minute and unpredictable nature of what I do can be unpleasant and this week has been full of time changes and appointment cancellations. Such is life right?
But, complaining about my strange work schedule wasn’t the point of this post. So, let’s get to it.
Did anyone catch my tweet from Monday? (While I’m talking about twitter, you should totally follow me. I tweet a lot and I really like talking/tweeting you guys. You can follow me by clicking here .)
Being Canadian means were blessed with a mish mash of really cool things. For one, we’ve got awesome hockey to watch , one of the highest life expectancies (79 years) and some interesting culinary inventions such as the poutine and the smoked meat sandwich .
But, although Canada is generally a great place, we do fall short in some areas. We Canadians have limited or no access to certain foods/activities that most Americans do. Let’s get at this with a list, shall we?
1. Chobani Yogurt
( Source )
Did you know that each and every time I read a post about a blogger eating Chobani I get green with envy? Chobani was an American thing until Chobani started selling their yogurt in the Greater Toronto area about a year ago. Quebec and all the other provinces are totally off the radar for the time being. If I really want some Chobani I have the choice of crossing the border into New York State or driving roughly 6 hours to Toronto to get me some. Not fair.
2. Almond Butter
Almond butter is apparently a thing of the future in these parts. I’ve visited many many many grocery stores and have only been able to find MaraNatha Almond Butter . The lack of variety in almond butter may be a provincial thing at this point but I’d love the opportunity to try different brands.
Don’t get me wrong, I love me some MaraNatha Almond Butter but I get the feeling there are bigger and better options out there to spread on my morning toast.
Other foods and activities that are difficult to find or participate in
Foods: Biscoff cookies & spread, kale , Fage Yogurt, millet, nut butters, specialty oils…
Activities: Bikram Yoga, Body Pump
Now, off to workout and then get a start on my day. Thanks to your wonderful comments yesterday I’ve been able to add a couple more awesome tunes to my iPod! Thanks again guys!
What foods/activities do you have a hard time finding in your area? Have you found some of these products?? Do tell!!!
