I'm back from a bit of a hiatus on posting. The summer has flown by! I've been busy working on my consulting business, working with my Reiki clients, starting a new business (to be announced soon), and enjoying the glorious weather!
A couple of nights ago, my husband and I were having dinner at our Clare and Don's, a local "beach shack" style restaurant (great seafood and lots of fun tofu dishes, too), enjoying the perfect weather in their lively patio area. A friend who works there stopped by to say "Hi," and gave us a copy of Eddie from Ohio'sThree Rooms CD. She was handing them out as a way of promoting their upcoming concert at Wolf Trap (a truly beautiful and enjoyable outdoor music venue in Virginia) on Friday, August 22nd. They always put on a great show -- we've seen them at Wolf Trap and another local cool venue, The Birchmere. In these two very different venues (one a large outdoor amphitheatre, the other a medium-sized cabaret-style indoor concert hall), they manage to engage their audience in an intimate, playful way.
While Eddie from Ohio has a hardcore national following, the majority of their fans are concentrated in the greater DC area. So, if you want to learn more about them, you can Folkmusic.about.com says "Eddie From Ohio is pretty straight-up folk-rock, with a lot of catchy hooks, resembling groups like Peter, Paul and Mary, the Nields, Nickel Creek, or Barenaked Ladies," a decent description of this ecclectic, fun, talented group.
Anyway, when my friend tried to give me a copy of Three Rooms, I told her that I already had one, and she responded that I should pass it along. So, I am holding a drawing for the CD. If you would like an opportunity to win it, please leave a comment or email me. I will announce the winner a week from Friday.
