I’ve got a feeling that this week is full of surprises, delights and awe.
I love the powerful vibration that comes from accomplishing goals that I set for myself, and I have been reminded that even the smallest goals bring that feeling of accomplishment.
A little more than a week ago my husband unpacked and set up our Wii and we began playing with the Fit Plus program. When you first set up your Mii (your onscreen character) you are asked to set a goal and in the past I always set a big goal – like 20 pounds in a certain number of weeks. I never reached my goal and I felt frustrated by it.
This time I did it differently, though. I set up a new Mii and I chose a goal of 2 pounds in 2 weeks. Yesterday, when I did my “body test” I had reached my goal early and there was a celebration on the Wii. Flowers exploding all over the place… music and rejoicing!! And I felt good!
If you are hoping to create positive change in your life I invite you to set small goals, and Celebrate when you have accomplished your goal.
This joy in the small steps has reminded me of a great book that has a home on my bookshelf: One Small Step Can Change Your Life, The Kaizen Wayby Robert Maurer It is an amazing and inspiring book.
So often we can get caught up in the feeling of overwhelm when we set out to tackle a large goal… it seems so far from where we are right now. But, if we can just look ahead to the next step we can enjoy that sense of ease: I can do it.
Create a great day!
*I just had to laugh because when I “published” this post WordPress congratulated me on reaching a goal of 5 posts! Party time again!
