You’ve got dreams of a zen spa-style bathroom and you’re limited by budget and painting constraints by your landlord? I decorated this bathroom for under $120!
Lotion pump - $12 (Bed, Bath & Beyond)
Japanese food dishes for soap and candle holders - $ (Central Market)
Baskets organize accessories, etc. - $2 (yard sale)
Wood drawers, Japanese pottery and etagerie add storage, organize make-up and accessories and make use of vertical space, etc. - Free (client was downsizing)
Shower curtain and towel - $60 (Bed, Bath & Beyond)
Plants - Free (from a neighbor)
Framed Cards - $16(Cost Plus)
White rugs (not showing) - $12 (Bed, Bath & Beyond)
If you were to buy everything new, it would still be a great deal…between $200-400. With fewer constraints, I’d add a nice sage paint on the walls and get a wood etagerie in medium tones to match the other brown tones in the room.
What kind of theme do you want in your bathroom? Think of a 2-3 color scheme and look for items that tie in with that. If you’re on a budget, yards sales and thrift stores are great places to find stuff, and, it’s friendlier to the earth to recycle than buy new, unless you buy sustainable. Little dishes like I’ve used here are only a few bucks new at grocery stores that carry Asian cuisine. Baskets are plentiful at thrift stores and also new at places like Cost Plus, and Pier 1 Imports.
