What Recession… Silicon Valley is Back Baby! - Always On - Summit at Stanford

The Summit at Stanford is going well so far, a lot of excitement, a lot of people, and some great entrepreneurs. I almost wish there were two of me so I could at least cover half of what is going on here. There are two boardrooms with speakers and events as well as the people that I am trying to talk with in the mean time – coupled with letting all of you know about the event. You can actually tune in live to the event.
Always On is a premier organization that sets up events around the US related to Technology, Greentech, VC, Hollywood, etc. (basically all the cool stuff). It is a great place for entrepreneurs, investors, and fanatics to connect. Anyway, I don’t hear any talk of the recession here – people are optimistic and cranking on to create the next Microsoft/Google. This event costs as much as $2,000 for a ticket and there are more people here in 2009 than in 2008. People are coming with their ideas and won’t let anything stop them.
Some of the topics that I have tuned into:
What is the short term green in green? Summary: Smart Grid technologies
Where are we at with Innovation? Best Quote: “Innovation – It’s like pornography, I cant describe it, but I know it when I see it” – Al Delattre, MD Accenture
Anyways, I will write another update shortly – but I need to get back to the conference. Woo V
