On December 17, representatives from Wind Powering America's Wind for Schools team and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) traveled to Wellington, Colorado to attend the dedication of a Wind Powering America Wind for Schools turbine. Frank Rukavina, NREL's manager of sustainability, presented a check to school officials for NREL's purchase of 10 years of renewable certificates. A documentary crew filmed the ceremony and conducted interviews with Mike Kostrewza, Colorado Wind Applications Center leader; Tom Potter, Colorado Wind for Schools facilitator; and Bob Mailander, the Governor's rural regional representative.
