homemade body scrub to detox naturally

I can’t stress enough how “regular” commercial cosmetics can be harmful for your health .  Those preparations a usually full of potentially dangerous chemical ingredients, not to mention that they comes from high polluting companies and generally tested on animals.

The best way to avoid all those down-sides is to make your own beauty products.  This is not as  complicated as it sounds, and in fact, it can be even fun to make. Here’s a great homemade scrub recipe that is gentle enough to use on your face and suited for all skin types.

Rose-lavender scented scrub

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup almonds
  • ½ cup old-fashion oats
  • 2 tablespoon dried lavender flowers
  • 1 tablespoon dried rose petals
  • ¾ cup white clay
  • water or rose water
  • 1 drop lavender essential oil

Directions

In a food processor, grind almonds, oats and flower petals to a fine meal.  Add white clay and mix thoroughly.  Store in an airtight container.

To use

Add 1 tablespoon of the mixture to 1 tablespoon of water (or rose water) and a drop of lavender essential oil.  Massage the paste on your freshly cleaned skin in a circular motion. Rinse well and follow with your natural day cream.

This homemade facial scrub leaves skin velvety smooth.  You can use it two to three times a week.

Have you ever made your own beauty products? If not, what is your favorite brand?  Does your skin regiment includes a facial scrub?
