Prestone Printing Co., Inc. was founded as a print brokerage house in 1953 by the late Paul Adler. Today it is still a family-run business with Paul’s son Rob at the helm. In 1999, Rob partnered with Ira Wechsler, Tom Politano and Steve Amaroso to found Prestone Press LLC. With this addition Prestone became a full-service printing plant. Today Prestone has a state-of-the-art facility which includes seven multicolor presses, a bindery and the very latest technology associated with the printing industry. As a company Prestone believes in corporate responsibility. It is proud of its record as an employer and honored to be named one of Crain’s NY Business’s Best Places to Work in 2008.
Prestone is FSC and SFI certified and dedicated not only to energy sustainability but also to good corporate citizenship towards its customers, employees, community and world. It stocks only post-consumer waste recycled paper for house use. It uses digital and process-less plates to minimize chemical processing. It uses vegetable-based inks and automatic blanket cleaners and recycles all manufacturing waste and office paper. Prestone also participates in NY State’s Energy Research and Development Authority’s Energy Curtailment Plan to reduce energy loads at peak demand periods. Prestone uses low impact lighting and efficient energy practices throughout its establishment.
