Health knowledge made personal
 Today my honey took me to lunch at a new place, and oh, I am a happy lady! We went to this catering company/fancy grocery/lunch spot and I really stumbled into a little piece of personal paradise. I usually complain that I can't find a lot of ingredients and things because our city is lacking in speciality shops. The Vieux Carre' has sorted that out for me on many fronts!  I found my holy grail of alcohol...the Sofia Coppola champagne minis! I loved Sofia when she appeared in Sassy Magazine oh so many years ago. There aren't that many celebrities I love, but she is just impossibly cool. I saw her champagne minis in some magazine years ago and have been keeping an eye out ever since. I dunno exactly what it says about me, but a teensy pink portable champagne with its own bendy straw is pretty much the be-all end-all of drinks for me. Heaven! I can't wait to try one!  There was also a nice olive bar, lots of good wine, and dry goods to squeal about. I bought some produce and sushi supplies. I can't wait to go back and peruse the spices and sauces. For the cheese eaters, there is quite a selection of fancy stuff. I'm gonna ignore the big meaty presence (Brad said, "Don't look in the freezer. One of our marsupial friends is in there") and be really glad that we have a locally owned shop with this much to offer. I think it's a great place to get hard-to-find ingredients. Our lunch there was nice as well. I had a vegetarian panini and Brad had pesto chicken. All in all a lovely spot! Here are more fancy Sofia drinks I can't wait to sip...yay!!!   While I am talking about frivolous stuff, I must say that I was so excited to see a MAC counter arrive here, and was subsequently way underwhelmed at the sour-faces working there. Yuck! If I'm gonna plunk out out hard earned dollars on makeup, no matter how sparkly and beautiful the makeup is, I at least don't want to be treated like this huuuuuge, sighhhhh, pain to wait on. Lame. And finally, I want these shoes. Bad.   |
