Every Friday I feature a special person on the Gardening Nude Blog. This person is the "Naked Winner of the Week." Every person featured in this category is a winner for doing great things for the community and is trying to make a difference for the world. You can make a difference too.

The naked winner of the week for 10-24-08 is ::drum roll please::
Chana Bernstein, Founder and President of Saret Charitable Fund, for dedicating herself to the betterment of humanity by assisting those in need within her community who are facing economic hardship.

Over 20 years ago, a beautiful two year old Cambodian child named Saret Yann died because of the economic plight of her family while the child was fighting a deadly disease in Wheaton, Illinois. This child became Chana Bernstein's inspiration to found SARET, a philanthropic organization built to assist DuPage County, Illinois residents facing economic hardship. The SARET team provides assistance on many different levels including rent assistance, utilities, car repair, car donations, as well as food and clothing vouchers.
SARET's Mission Statement is "To prevent homelessness and hunger in the western suburbs, to provide hope when hope seems impossible and to restore dignity to individuals or families facing a current economic and life crisis."
