Fitspo- Running Rachel

Posted Nov 11 2011 4:23pm

I’ve decided to blog a “Fitspo” blog every Friday in conjunction with the Fitness Friday posts!

This week I bring you Rachel Steffen.
She has inspired me in more than just the fitness realm but that’s what we’re focusing on here so with that said…

Q: Have you always lived a healthy fit lifestyle? (give details, explain progress, etc.)
I have always been an active, athletic person. Since a young child, I have been active in sports like: cross country, track, softball, basketball, cheerleading, and more. My love for sports and fitness has continued through the years.

Q: What keeps you going, motivated?
My children. I want to be a positive role model for my sons. I want to teach them that it is normal and good to fit fitness in your daily routine.

Q: What is your favorite workout?
My favorite workout is running. I love the feeling of zoning out while on a run… with nothing but the sound of my feet hitting the pavement and sound of my rhythmed breathing.

Q: What are some of your goals?
I have many fitness bucket list goals as well as weight loss goals. My fitness goals are to run a full marathon, complete a triathalon, and more! I also want to run a sub 2 hour half marathon. My weight loss goal is to reach a healthy BMI (per my short 5’2″ frame).

Q: What are some of your accomplishments or things you’re proud of?
I have completed 3 half marathons and multiple shorter distance races (5K to 10 miles). I may not be the fastest runner, but I always enjoy myself. I love to help and encourage others to find their fitness passion!

Q: What is one random fact we should know about you?
Before becoming a mom, I used to be a teacher. My love of teaching others and encouraging them to pursue their passion sticks with me today.

Q: What words of advice would you like to leave the readers?
You are stronger than you know, and you are capable of doing MORE than you THINK! Your mind is a powerful tool… think positive and challenge yourself. You will be surprised to find what you are able to do!
