Here's the not-yet-released documentary film I had the chance to screen this week: Fame High , which follows the stories of a handful of students at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA), and shines a spotlight (so to speak) on the role of the arts in our society, and whether or not we sustain it through our youth's education.
I wrote about the director's amazing movie The Garden a few years ago (I still get chills thinking about a certain scene in that film). The story on this also-excellent film will have to wait until the new year as I'm still researching (and I go on holiday hiatus after this Sunday). This topic is very close to my heart, as the performing arts are the passions of my daughters (and you know how I feel about the arts in schools . . .)
